Board Governance Workshop for Board Members and Senior Administrators of Non-Profit Organizations
United Way Leadership Development Services (LDS) will host a workshop on Strategic Planning for Non-profits on Tuesday, September 25, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rideaucrest Home, Conference Room C, 175 Rideau Street.
Strategy development can involve so many elements – mission, vision, values, guiding principles, internal culture, stakeholder consultation, external trends, situation analysis, risk assessment, governance, setting priority goals, then developing strategies and building capacity to achieve them, not to mention aligning tactics, budgets, operational plans and organizational effort in support of those strategies. Where to start?
This session will highlight:
- How to recognize which elements you should focus on, why and when
- Common triggers that lead to weak processes, unfocused direction and poor strategies
- Key questions you must address for effective strategy development & tools to help do it.
This workshop will be facilitated by Rob Wood, President, 8020Inc. and is open to board members and senior administrators from any non-profit organizations in the region.
The cost for this workshop is $25 per person and registration is required. The registration deadline is Friday, September 21 2012. Registration is limited to two registrations per organization.
