Mayor Mark Gerretsen has officially proclaimed September 20 – November 29, 2012 as United Way Campaign Time. Way to go, Mayor Mark!
United Way KFL&A Campaign Time
September 20 – November 29, 2012
WHEREAS the United Way KFL&A’s mission is “To build and strengthen our community by bringing people and resources together to facilitate change”; and
WHEREAS the United Way KFL&A’s vision is “Our vision is a community with a strong social services network where individuals can develop their potential for self-sufficiency and personal well-being”; and
WHEREAS in 2011 United Way KFL&A funded programs assisted 85,000 people in our community (66,000 of whom live in the City of Kingston); and
WHEREAS United Way KFL&A works closely with the City of Kingston to address social issues in our community by focusing on three core areas – All that Kids Can Be, Healthy People Strong Communities and From Poverty to Possibility; and
WHEREAS from September 11 to November 29, 2012, 2,500 United Way volunteers will be promoting the importance of giving to the United Way KFL&A and encouraging all residents to recognize the importance of building a better community together by giving, volunteering and acting.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Kingston hereby proclaims September 20 – November 29, 2012 as United Way Campaign Time.
