Providence Care is local health sector’s largest contributor to United Way
This year, Providence Care raised an impressive $61,164.50 during their staff United Way campaign, surpassing their goal by over $11,000. For 10 years in a row Providence Care has earned the title as the health sector’s largest contributor to the United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington campaign. Providence Care has more than tripled its annual contributions to United Way since 2000.
“Providence Care is yet again the largest healthcare-based workplace campaign for our United Way,” said John DiPaolo, Vice-President Operations at United Way KFLA. “Through the hard work of their staff who volunteered their time to raise funds on behalf of United Way, Providence Care continues to show leadership and excellence in the area of community giving.”
For the second year in a row, Donna Kearney has led Providence Care’s staff United Way campaign. Donna is an administrative assistant for Specialized Geriatrics and has been with Providence Care for over 20 years.
“Through my involvement last year as the Campaign Chair, I saw that United Way really reaches a broad range of people in our community who really need help,” said Kearney. “So this year, I made a commitment to support United Way even more, because I truly see and believe in the great work that this charity does.”
Brad Ethier, Manager of General Accounting at Providence Care, and another committed staff member, has overseen the organization’s United Way campaign funds for the last five years. “The campaign has become more fun every year,” said Ethier. “There is more excitement around each event from both organizers and participants. The fact that this year we are once again the leading contributor from the health sector in Kingston demonstrates that our employees not only believe in the United Way, but also the in the Mission and Values of Providence Care.”
