PHOTO OP: Academy of Learning Community Charity BBQ Today
The Academy of Learning Community charity BBQ and Wellness Day begins today at 11:30 a.m. Michael Teglas, director of the Kingston campus of Academy of Learning Career and Business College, has pledged to shave his head if the staff, students and the businesses of the Parkway Plaza raise $2,500 for the United Way KFL&A. As of Sept. 5, over $2,000 had been raised.
When: Wed, September 12, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Where: Academy of Learning, Parkway Plaza, 1469 Princess Street, Kingston
What: Purchase a burger or hot dog, beverage and a bag of chips for $5. All proceeds will support the United Way.
Participating businesses include Physiotherapy Kingston, Active Orthopedic Solutions, Kingston Creekside Dental, Styles & Designs by Janey, Tranquil Moments and Parkway Grocery.
Each business will be open to discuss their services during the barbecue, and there will also be draws for prizes and services at each of the participating business locations.
