Good Food Stand – Food Access KFL&A

Please note: Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, Good Food Stands in KFL&A will not be running as scheduled during the week of March 30 – April 3, and are cancelled until further notice.  We appreciate your patience and understanding. Updates will be posted to social media and on this webpage when they resume.

Good Food Stands began popping up across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington beginning August 27, 2018. The goal of this project is to make fresh produce more readily available and affordable for everyone in the community.

Food Access is one dimension of food security that has emerged as an overarching theme for poverty reduction in Kingston and Area. When people live in poverty it impedes their access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food. This project aims to improve food access for individuals and households in our region.

Food Access Report

United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.

We are situated on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat land. There are Métis and other non-status First People from many Indigenous Nations present in our community today. This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
