Fare For Friends Raised Over 76,000 For United Way KFL&A

The Fare For Friends event on September 9, 2012, raised over 76,000 for United Way KFL&A.

Thanks to all of the restaurants, wineries and breweries as well as all of the individuals and companies that donated items for our auction. Thanks to all of the attendees and volunteers. With your generosity, Kingston’s favourite garden party continues to be a successful fundraising event for your United Way and your community.

Over the past 19 years, Fare For Friends has raised over $1 million for vital care programs in our community. All proceeds support local programs that benefit thousands of residents.

Campaign 2012 will officially kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 11, with the announcement of this year’s fundraising goal at the Ambassador Conference Resort.

United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.

We are situated on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat land. There are Métis and other non-status First People from many Indigenous Nations present in our community today. This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
