Highlights from the Week

Coat Drive
In case you missed it, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, United Way KFL&A and community partners are working to ensure the annual coat drive continues during the pandemic. More details can be found at www.unitedwaykfla.ca/coatdrive

Novelis warm clothing Donation
A big thank you to the amazing team at Novelis in #ygk. They held a warm clothing drive and as with all of their item drives, employees certainly stepped up! These items will make their way to agencies in the community and then to individuals in need to keep them nice and warm just in time for winter! Thank you for the #locallove and support!

KCCU campaign touchdown
Congratulations and a big thank you to the team at Kingston Community Credit Union – they wrapped up their campaign this week and had 100% staff participation again this year (41 straight years of achieving this goal!!) They also exceeded their campaign goal and increased average per person donations over last year. Amazing #locallove in action!!

CFB Kingston Trivia Night -last call!
What: CFB Kingston will be hosting 6 weeks of Trivia fun in support of United Way KFL&A! Each week will have 75+ questions, separated into 15 different categories – an estimated 1.5-2 hours of quizzing fun! Play by yourself or in a team to increase your chances of Trivia dominance!
Where: Trivia will be held over Zoom, so you can enjoy a night of entertainment in the comfort of your own home! All money raised goes to the United Way of KFL&A campaign.

United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.

We are situated on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat land. There are Métis and other non-status First People from many Indigenous Nations present in our community today. This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
