Scott Environmental seeking old electronics for charity
Proceeds to United Way KFLA
In today’s world, as technology keeps expanding old electronic items keep piling up in our basements, garages, and attics. Scott Environmental is giving you the perfect opportunity to embark on some summer cleaning to rid yourself of those unused electronics.
On August 6, the Scott Environmental Group invites community members to 633 Fortune Crescent for a free electronic waste collection, charity BBQ, and car wash.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. staff from the Scott Environmental Group will be on hand to accept all electronics (old, broken, and used) in support of their WEEE program.
The Scott Environmental Group WEEE program is a provincially audited Electronic Waste recycling program with a goal of 99% landfill diversion. By dropping off your electronics on August 6 you can rest assured that you are doing your part of enriching our community by responsibly recycling old and unused materials.
As an added bonus, the Scott Environmental Group will be on hand to wash your car and shine your wheels for a voluntary donation. While you watch your vehicle turn from dusty to dirt free, enjoy a delicious hamburger or hotdog with a charity BBQ. All proceeds from this event will go towards the 2011 United Way Campaign. For more information, please contact Benjamin Scott, Scott Environmental Group, 613-453-4880.
Established in 1941, United Way serving KFL&A has worked to strengthen lives by bringing together the financial resources of the community – business, labour, individuals and government – in support of a network of 51 social service and health agencies. Through these agencies and there programs, people found help and in many cases, opportunity for a better life. Over 74,000 people in KFL&A received help from a United Way funded service last year.
