Public Workshop Open To Non-profit Organizations in KFL&A
Duties and Liabilities of Directors: How to Protect Yourself
United Way KFL&A Leadership Development Services (LDS) will host a workshop on October 20 for non-profit organizations. The workshop will take place at the Ongwanada Auditorium, 191 Portsmouth Avenue, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is part of a series of workshops designed to strengthen governance and management in the not for profit sector.
Open to board members and senior administrators from any non-profit organization in KFL&A, Peter B.B. Tobias will facilitate the workshop. Peter practices business and corporate law in his day to day life. Working extensively in the not-for-profit, charitable and institutional sectors, Peter will provide participants with a general overview of the risks involved in volunteering on a board of directors and how to protect themselves from certain liabilities.
The cost for this workshop is $25 per person and registration is required. :
The registration deadline is Monday, October 17. Registration is limited to two registrations per organization. For information about the LDS program and future public workshops, contact the United Way office at 613-542-2674.
Public workshops are facilitated by volunteers from United Way’s LDS program. LDS is a community building initiative that was introduced by the United Way to help non-profit organizations deal with the ever-changing landscape of the volunteer sector.
