Thanks to the generosity of individuals, corporations and more than 2000 volunteers, United Way serving KFL&A has reached 50 percent of its $3.2 million campaign goal in record time.
“This is the fastest we have made the 50% achievement and many workplaces have helped us reach this milestone by reporting their results early,” said United Way Campaign Chair, Les Herr. “It is very heartening to see increased participation in workplaces, including participation from new workplaces. It is generosity like this that makes it possible to help those in need in our community”
With just 6 weeks remaining in this year’s campaign, individual donors and workplaces are encouraged to keep up the record pace and report their results to United Way. The campaign wraps up on Friday, November 25 at the Ambassador Conference Resort.
Established in 1941, United Way serving KFL&A has worked to strengthen lives by bringing together the financial resources of the community- business, labour, individuals and government – in support of a network of social service and health agencies. Through these agencies and their programs, people find help and in many cases opportunity for a better life. Over 74,000 people in KFL&A received help last year from a United Way funded service.
