United Way serving Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington and the City are now accepting applications for Community Investment Fund grants. Again this year, they are pleased to offer charities and not-for-profit organizations a single application process to access this source of funding for local programs and projects.
The United Way and City have worked closely together to streamline their processes for disbursing Community Investment Fund grants, helping to reduce the amount of work for organizations who apply for grants. Applications are available on the United Way’s website, www.unitedwaykfla.ca.
Successfully introduced in 2011, the United Way administers the simplified granting process which has eliminated duplication and aligned efforts with the funding priorities of both the United Way and City. United Way funding is available for programs that address emerging needs and issues in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington while City of Kingston’s funding provides support to programs and projects that fit with the mandate of the Sustainable Kingston Plan objectives and are within the City’s boundaries.
The Community Investment Fund granting stream will disburse one-time grants to organizations that meet an identified need and goal within one of the following four Community Impact Areas:
1. All That Kids Can Be: Growing Up Great
2. Healthy People, Strong Communities: Turning Lives Around
3. From Poverty to Possibility : Belonging to Community
4. Sustaining Our Heritage (City of Kingston fund only)
Applications of up to $25,000 are now being accepted until September 10, 2012.
