Join us for the popular Memorial Golf Classic on August 29

Tournament supports United Way of KFL&A and University Hospitals Kingston Foundation

KINGSTON, Ont. (July 15, 2013) – Looking for a day to enjoy a delicious grilled lunch, a fun game of golf and an evening of great food and conversation? Join us for the 33rd Memorial Golf Classic on Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Colonade Golf & Country Club in support of the United Way of KFL&A and the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.

The Memorial Golf Classic is held in loving memory of Ambassador Conference Resort’s Joe & Maria Melo, founders of the Ambassador Conference Resort and dedicated staff member and friend Liz Doyle.

“Over the last 33 years, this golf tournament has become popular among golfers and those who have a friend to remember,” says Venicio Rebelo, vice president and general manager of the Ambassador Conference Resort. “This year, we have changed venues and switched to one shot gun start but as always, we promise you a fun-filled, memorable day.”

Registration is $165 per person and includes golf, power cart, lunch at the Course and a buffet dinner at the Colonade Golf and Country Club. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the four person scramble begins with a 1 p.m. shot gun start.

United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.

We are situated on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat land. There are Métis and other non-status First People from many Indigenous Nations present in our community today. This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
