Win a ride to school with Kingston Fire & Rescue, in support of United Way of KFL&A
Kingston Fire and Rescue (KFR) invites residents to participate in an online auction from Oct. 8 to 22 for a chance to Ride to School with Fire Chief Shawn Armstrong, in support of the United Way of KFL&A.
“The United Way serving KFL&A supports so many people and charities in our community, providing them support and resources when they need it most,” says Armstrong. “Kingston Fire and Rescue is proud to do its part to help this great organization.”
Take part in the online auction and bid for a chance to Ride to School with Fire Chief Armstrong.
Check back often until Oct. 22! The highest bidder will have the exciting chance to show up to school in style and ride with the Fire Chief along with a Kingston fire truck following behind.
Thanks so much to Kingston Fire and Rescue and the City of Kingston for the ongoing support and this amazing opportunity!
Winter Clothing Drive
The Winter Clothing Drive kicks off on Monday (October 25th)
As temperatures drop and winter approaches, coats and warm clothing become a necessity. Many community members rely on donated items to help them keep warm and this year, United Way KFL&A is hoping the community can help once again.
Workplaces and community members are asked to donate clean, new or gently used coats and boots (coats must be washable only; no leather or heavy wool) and new accessories including new hats, mitts, scarves and socks. Items can be dropped off to collection bins throughout KFL&A from October 25 – November 5.
For more information about this year’s Winter Clothing Drive visit www.unitedwaykfla.ca/winterclothingdrive

United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.
We are situated on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat land. There are Métis and other non-status First People from many Indigenous Nations present in our community today. This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
