United Way KFL&A has wrapped up the fifth annual Tampon Tuesday donation drive!
A big thank you to everyone who donated. This year, over 100,000 menstrual hygiene products were donated by individuals, workplaces, community groups, businesses and more! Thanks so much for all the support!
This initiative will once again worked locally with national Tampon Tuesday partners Bell Media, organized Labour and Shoppers Drug Mart and ran March 1 and running until March 31
Donations are always accepted outside of the donation drive period and to make monetary donations, check out the link below.
The donation drive has wrapped up for 2024, check back for more info in early 2025.
Products can also be donated through an Amazon wishlist and monetary donations can be made online. Community members can also contact the United Way KFL&A office at 613.542.2674 or at events@unitedwaykfla.ca if none of the above options or locations work and a pickup or drop off can be arranged.
Following the donation drive, products will be sorted by volunteers and distributed to various agencies in the community (list below).
“Tampon Tuesday has dissolved an unfortunately common barrier our clients face by giving us the ability to provide a variety of period products throughout the year. We are able to keep our bathrooms stocked, which gives our clients the opportunity to take what they need. It is one less necessity and financial burden they need to worry about. Letting them focus all their energy on their goals and growth. We are more than grateful United Way continues to provide support like this to organizations like ours!”

Started in London Ontario, Tampon Tuesday is a program about dignity. The grassroots movement began in 2009 and continues to grow as an opportunity to collect products for people experiencing period poverty.
In 2020, United Way KFL&A initiated the first Tampon Tuesday drive in this community, partnering with workplaces, Bell Media, local labour partners, Queen’s University for a Tampon Tuesday donation drive. Over 45,000 hygiene products were donated and distributed to agencies and individuals in need in the community.
In 2021, United Way KFL&A partnered with Shoppers Drug Mart and they generously offered their stores as collection sited and over 128,000 hygiene products were donated and distributed.
In 2022 and 2023, the donation campaign continued to grow with over 134,000 products donated through the month long campaign in March.
In 2024, over 100,000 products were collected.
