2013 Commando Challenge at CFB Kingston
120 members of the community stepped into the boots of a soldier… as 12 teams were put through the ultimate test.
Each team had to complete six gruelling courses on the base.
Competitors were challenged to complete a confidence course, live range shooting, operation rescue and tug of war.
The United Way event raised six-thousand dollars.
But the challenge was not only focused on the fundraising.
Francois Chagnon
“The key thing is to have the citizens of Kingston understand what it is we do here. We are the largest employer in the city and sometimes there are misconceptions as to what it is that soldiers do. So through these six events we try to demonstrate what the skills, capabilities and qualities that soldiers have. They are a reflection of society.”
